Postby Potenza on Thu Apr 09, 2009 1:27 pm

If I cross an 8 star Paint mare with a 5 star PSH stallion. Is there a way of figuiring out how many stars the new PSH will have?

Depends if they have the skills similar to each other. I'm not really breeding those horses so I wouldnt know much about them but I think Paints top skill is Gallop the goes to dressage then speed (I think) and PSH is dressage..maybe?? So you might get atleast 3 starred. Not sure though...

The PSH is speed, dressage, & then gallop. Looking on Howrse Paints are speed, dressage, & gallop.

Then you might get a 7 starred horse if you used proper games...

If you posted the GP of both parents, I could do my calculations *cough* and figure out the GP of the foal *cough, cough*.

Well, I have the round abouts for the GP the the foal will get. They wont be bang on correct, but will be pretty close like a couple of decimal numbers off :)

Mare with first stallion should reproduce a foal with approx a GP of 518.51.

Mare with second stallion should reproduce a foal with approx a GP of 516.78.

I havent done the "calculations" of a crossbred before but because they have similar top skills they should have a foal with a close GP to the ones I done for you, if not, well, we'll both learn something.......

Well, since the top three skills are the same, you should get a 6 or 7 star foal (educated guess). This kind of cross is done alot to bring a new breeds Gp up.
You can tell a gelding, you can ask a stallion, but you must discuss it with a mare.

That was my idea. With the Paints being up to 10* PSH's are mostly 4-5* with the occasional 6 through x-breeding.
