Can we just get back to the main topic and not start a riot? Please?

LOL, jlibos!

iljb -all of the statments are on topic. This discussion is about what will attract mare owners to a stallion. Thusly a mare owner's opinion is as important as a stallion owner's. :D

Yes, I do agree with DP. When ever I offer coverings, or am looking to breed, I want the opinions of others to make my decision the best it possibly can be.

ya just have to keep working on it, but it can be done. There are several good training schedules on the forum here depending on what works best for the different breeds.

Quick Question About Breeding

Postby Dayna on Mon Apr 14, 2008 9:23 am

How much energy does it take to put a stallion up for covering a mare?
Once you click on "offer a covering" it does not tell you how much energy it will take for that action!

Thanks in advance for all replies

I'm a long way from breeding, at this point, but I am curious about this. My son does breeding, and he goes to the "negotiation" page with the forums asking for coverings. It seemed very tedious to me and difficult to find what you are looking for.

What was pictured in the quote above seems much more useful, but I have no idea where it is accessed. Is it still available on V2? I could tell my son, at least!

Yes, it is still accessable on V2, but it looks a bit different now. We'll have to see if Barrelracer would be willing to post another screen shot for everyone else (since I'm not learned in that area ;-))

Directions to access the above pictured area:
Your mare needs to have reached two years and six months. In the bottom, right hand corner you will find a few different options ('rename my horse' and possibly 'change the breeding' and 'modify the affix'.) Above those, you will see a box labelled "Reproduction" and in that you will see 'find a stallion or breed my mare' (I don't quite understand that reason for the phrasing there.) When you click on that, you will be taken to a page very similar to the one in Barrelracer's screen shot. The criteria are very much the same, though they have phrased them a bit different ('More' and 'Less' rather than 'At least' and 'At most.') If you are picky about the quality of the stud, then you can fill out the criteria (I tend to leave the skills part blank and just pick through the studs for my favored level), hit display coverings and scan through the listed studs.

Hopefully the above makes sense and helps you! If not, do feel free to ask more questions. :)

hmmm.. I dont quite agree with the golden apple on a stallion/mare for coverings since I hardly even look at the horses pic since all of the Howrses look the same and on Howrse coat colors are not pasted down from parents let alone a created coat, all the foals colors are choosen randomly yes, some might be rarer then others but it has nothing to do with the parents of the foal!
