can a foal get the greenstar if his/her father has a greenstar?

only if the mother has a high GP also.

It just depends on how high the mare and father's gp in the skill you want to give a green star.

Don't forget about play. If the foal is really close to getting a green star the play can push them into green star-dum if done right.

it depends on both the mother and father. if they are both high in a certain skill, the foal will have a greenstar.
