If you have a mare, you can breed her. I highly recommend not breeding until your horse is 10 years old and has won at least 20 comps. Even tho you can't see the BLUP yet, trust me your foals will be worth more.
You have to be at riding level 2 (10 days membership) to buy more horses from the auctions and this can take a while to win one.
