I know this topic has been beat into the ground, but mostly about immortal horses. I have a horse that is approaching 25 years old. She is not immortal, nor do I plan or making her immortal. I do want her to live to 30 though. What is the best way to keep them going that extra 5 years? It seems people say putting to pasture lowers health, so just feed hay? And do lessons decrease health at all? Thanks for any input!

My horse Des is 31 years and 2 months. At the age of 25 I would feed the next amount of grain up from what was required, pasture for his forage (what was required) ,2 lessons a day and all the other usual stuff (ie, drink, salt stone groom, carrot, turnip, stroke x2) he is a 19% health at this age. Just gonna let him die naturally whne his time is up. This has seemed to work really well for a non immortal regular horse!

Is it better to put an older horse in the pasture or box to sleep?
