QH foal playing guide.

Postby Ckat on Thu Nov 29, 2007 11:12 pm

Some where I saw someone ask about this so here goes guys! I hope this helps...

I have seen quite a few ways to play with a foal and raise the GP. Most are for the Thourghbreds and Arabs, and the Standardbreds. I saw a request for the QH's the other day so I wrote down what I do. Please know that this is only the way I do it and is not set in stone. I also do it this way NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF YEAR IT IS. Don't ask me about what if I do not have the salt, as I have done it this way for so long I have no clue. Sorry.
...........................................
Age 8 months:

Feed - if it says feed 6.6 then I feed 8. Pay for it, I do not use the pasture. It takes away time.

Drink, groom, apple
(This should bring the Energy, health and morale up to 100% - if working in the winter just the morale will still be low.)

Play ~ 7 hours - This reduces your energy to 5%. It gains you .14 in the GP
Stroke, stroke, Salt, Carrots, Turnip

This puts you at 30% energy
Bed time in the Pasture.
.......................................
10 Months old:
Feed the same 8.
Drink, Groom, apple

Play ~ 7 hours - leaves you with 11% energy and gains you .14 on the GP

Stroke, stroke, salt, carrot, turnip

Play ~ 1 hour - leaves you with 25% energy - gains you .02 on the GP.

Bed in pasture.
........................................
1 year old:
Feed is the same - 8
Drink, Groom, Apple

Play ~ 8 hours - leaves 0% energy and gains you .16 on the GP.
Stroke, stroke, salt, carrot, Turnip
This puts you at 28% energy, bed in pasture.
.........................................
1.2 Years old:
Feed should now say "feed 8.8", I feed 10
Drink, Groom, Apple

Play ~ 8 hours - leaves you with 13% energy, gains you .16 on the GP.
Stroke, stroke, salt, carrot, turnip

Play ~ 1 hour - gains you .02 GP leaves you with over 20% energy.

Bed in pasture
..........................................
1.4 Years old:
Feed the same - 10
Drink, Groom, Apple

Play ~ 9 hours - leaves 10% energy. Gaines you .18 on the GP
Stroke, stroke, salt, carrot, turnip

Play ~ 1 hour - gain is .02
Bed in pasture
.................................
Finale
1.6 years old

Feed the same - 10
Drink, groom, apple

Play ~ 10 hours - leaves 10% energy, gains .20 on the GP.

Stroke, stroke, salt, carrot, turnip

Play ~ 2 hours - gains .04 on the GP

This leaves you with 17% energy and a bed time of 22:45.
........................
The next day your horse will not be happy but he or she will be fine.

TOTAL GP GAIN WITH OUT THE USE OF THE BLACK ORCHID IS ~ 1.08

The colt I wrote this down from while playing is Resolution. His next day stats said
Energy 76%
Health 99%
Morale 87%

And folks, he is not fat!

His initial GP was 376.54. His new GP is 377.62.

LOL I hope it helps! I have messed it with a bit and now that it is spring I can actually do 2 hours in the box, and then another hour of play on the 8th month. You put the foal to bed at 18% but you can still achive 100 energy the next day before play.

Man, I wish I had seen this a few days ago!! I bought a QH filly and have been playing with her for a couple days now, I'm pretty sure she was 1 year 6 months today, so games are over! When I breed her I'll remember this was here, but that's a while from now. I'll look you up when I go "daddy shopping" if you don't mind!
