The Older, Aging, Horse (25+)

Postby lexio2 on Mon Aug 06, 2007 5:34 pm

As we know, on the day of a horse's 25th birthday, Health and Skills start a slow downward slide.

~~~HEALTH~~~
Health deteriorates 1-2% overnight, depending on what you do with the horse during the day.
On the 25th birthday Health is at 99% when the horse wakes. I have found that putting the horse into the pasture or box for a period of several hours lowers the health 1%. In this case, the health goes down 1% over night, so the next day (25 years 1-2months depending on if your horse has the water of youth) the horse wakes up with 97% energy.
If you do not do something during the day to lower the health, then health decreases 2% overnight and either way your horse wakes the next day with 97% health.
~~~SKILLS~~~

From my gathered data horses lose 4.5% of skills every night. The skill level on the day of the 24 year 10 (or 11) months will be the highest skill level the horse will achieve.

Skill decay starts directly on the day of the 25th year. (i.e. skills on the 25 year will be lower than the previous day.

if your horse is immortal it goes on living forever and will never lose skills. It is impossible to kill an immortal horse, even if you try. :P

If you have morpheus arms on an immortal horse, you will no longer be able to age them unlimited after they turn 30.

Yes, the morpheus arms drops off. The skills lock in place and you will not gain anymore. However, you will also not lose your horse to death as a mortal horse and continue to breed.

is there any possible way to boost the health of an older howrse, or will it always loose the 1-2 percent per day? like, is there any item/action to use to help boost health?

Unfortunately, I don't believe so. You just have to watch your horse's health drop slowly as they age.
Oh, how fun!

after their 25th, it's just a guessing game. usually they'll die around 30, but for every horse that dies of natural causes that is over 30, you get one pass. the oldest they can live to be is 35 (unless they have immortality, in which case, none of this is applicable).

Actual Data from a 25+ Howrse

Postby sybanshee on Wed Aug 15, 2007 4:50 am

Since this was my first 25+ howrse, I decided to record her stats each day so that I would know what to expect the next time. This data is for Irish, a pure Foundation Hanoverian Mare.

Irish
Age Skills Health
25.0 349.06 97
25.2 340.44 96
25.4 331.44 94
25.6 322.44 92
25.8 313.44 90
25.1 304.44 87
26.0 295.44 85
26.2 286.44 83
26.4 277.44 81
26.6 268.44 79
26.8 259.91 77
26.1 252.41 74
27.0 244.91 71
27.2 237.41 70
27.4 229.91 68
27.6 222.41 66
27.8 214.91 63
27.1 207.41 61
28.0 199.91 59
28.2 192.41 57
28.4 185.97 55
28.6 179.97 53
28.8 173.97 50

Once she gets pretty low on health, I plan to try the black orchid on her, to see if it raises her health back to 100. I don't know if it will work or not, but I will re-post with the answer!!

Thanks for reading!!

Your horse is fertile until the end of its life, so I would take this to mean he could keep on breeding if he is immortal. That is one of the benefits of being immortal. That, and retention of skill level.

icklewillow, morpheus arms only drops off IF the horse is immortal and over 30. as your horse isn't immortal, you can continue to use morpheus arms
